Recipe: Khur-Le (Buckwheat pancakes)


Khur-Le (Buckwheat pancakes)


* 1 1/2 cups of buckwheat flour

* 1 egg

* 1 tsp oil


Mix buckwheat flour with the egg and add some cold water to bring a required batter. Using a utensil of your choice, form the khur-le in such a manner as you would make pancakes


Khur-Le can also be made from wheat and barley flour. Bhutanese generally eat khur-le for brealfast. In the past this dish usually served as a picnic lunch for cattle and horse herders.
