Recipe: Jangbuli (Bhutanese noodle dish)
A Bhutanese noodle dish that originated in the valley of Bumthang.
* Black mustard seed
* Szechuan pepper
* Spring onion
* Chilli powder
Cut stripes, like the normal flat noodles, from the rolled dough and blanch the cut dough. Heat some oil in a pan and fry the spring onions before adding the blanched strips. Stir fry for a few seconds and add the peppers, chili powder and salt. Mix well and serve hot. You can also add scrambled eggs according to your preference.
Jangbuli is best served with curd. As per one’s preference, Jangbuli can be prepared with different meat items too. It is considered a special dish served on festive or important occasions, a dish every Bhutanese is fond of.
