Going Through Time

I consider myself blessed to have spent four months living in Bhutan.

In that time, I befriended a reincarnate Lama, awoke daily to misty panoramas of the Himalayas, and even celebrated Thanksgiving with the king!

I lived and studied at the Royal Thimphu College but also explored at least 9 dzongkhags (districts) of Bhutan, each one culturally and environmentally unique. Traveling through Bhutan often felt as if I were going through time because of its varying modern and traditional lifestyles.

The country welcomed me with open arms, and my heart misses it every day.

From the kind hearted people to the majestic landscapes, nothing comparable exists on this Earth. Bhutan is an indescribably beautiful place; I’m already wanting to return!
